Maybell Gates was faithful in in Corinth for decades through small acts of faithfulness. I wanted to share with you what I read at the funeral as a reminder that a life spent washing feet without fanfare is not so small after all.
I cannot always say I relate to parts of the Old Testament narratives because we live in a different place and time, but one theme that feels uncomfortably close is the Israelites’ idol worship.
